#Discussion: 2017 Roundup + 2018 Blogging and Reading Goals

31 December 2 Comments
Hello lovelies! Wow that year flew by! I have been so busy this year that it feels as though I blinked and 2017 was done. I wasn't able to get as much blogging and reading done as I would have liked, but I did complete my Master of Arts degree, so safe to say I accomplished big things. This post is going to round out what I did in 2017 in my life, reading, and blogging, while updating you on the very few goals I have for 2018. Thank you guys so much for staying with me on this journey and here's hoping good things continue to come your way!

  2. The Martian by Andy Weir // My Review!
  3. The X-Files: Agent of Chaos by Kami Garcia // My Review!

Life Updates

I completed my Master of Arts degree at the University of Windsor! I wrote my thesis on Website Accessibility and will be updating my website as much as possible to be compliant. I moved from my one apartment in Windsor to another apartment in Windsor because I got a full-time job. I interned and they decided they liked me so much that they asked me to stay on and work for them. So I am planning on staying in Windsor for the next 5 or so years if possible.

#Discussion: #ASeriesAMonth2018 Hosted by Dani Reviews Things Reading Challenge TBR!

08 December 2 Comments
Hello all! I want to be more accountable for my reading in 2018 so I am hosting my own reading challenge and joining in on some others. This includes the #ASeriesAMonth2018 challenge hosted by Dani Reviews Things

I am excited to clear off some series on my shelves so here are the ones I am committing to, but I am hoping to actually read more than I am committing to. We shall see, we shall see...

I'm not stating what month I'm reading them in because it will depend on my TIME and work schedule. That is always why I'm including duologies, longer series, and the like.

2018 Reading Challenge: #2017Throwback

06 December 9 Comments
So I did not complete my reading goals or challenges from this year (including the one I hosted, yikes) because school kicked my butt. But I'm hoping to do better in 2018. However, I feel like I can't just forget 2017 happened so I am going to make up for all the reading time I lost this year. This reading challenge is a "throwback" to 2017 by reading a different book every month that was published in 2017! You can make it fun by trying to read a book that was published in that specific month or you can just choose twelve books from 2017 and read them. You can make this as fun and challenging as you wish.

Below you will find the 12 books I am going to read this year, but I will also give you options if you want to read a specific book from that month! Feel free to make a TBR and link it below. You can use the graphic I made, just be sure to link back to me.

I'll be reading...

ALLEGEDLY

Author: Tiffany D. Jackson
Series: N/A
Source: Purchased from Chapters
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Publication Date: January 24, 2017

Summary:
Mary B. Addison killed a baby.

Allegedly. She didn’t say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: A white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary and the jury made it official. But did she do it? She wouldn’t say.

Mary survived six years in baby jail before being dumped in a group home. The house isn’t really “home”—no place where you fear for your life can be considered a home. Home is Ted, who she meets on assignment at a nursing home.

There wasn’t a point to setting the record straight before, but now she’s got Ted—and their unborn child—to think about. When the state threatens to take her baby, Mary must find the voice to fight her past. And her fate lies in the hands of the one person she distrusts the most: her Momma. No one knows the real Momma. But who really knows the real Mary?

She lives in a world of adults who are terrified of their power, and who cower behind high walls and grim rules. Fear of the soul eaters—and of The Beast—rules their lives. Even more, they fear the ways in which The Beast may lurk among them—and within a girl like Alys.

For Alys has a connection to the soul eaters, and The Beast. And she hides a truth about herself that she can reveal to no one, for fear she will be called a witch. As the threat posed by the soul eaters grows, Alys must undertake a journey through the wild danger of the fforest. But the greatest danger is not outside her. Alys’s secret about who—and what—she is terrifies her most of all. And in order to save her world, she must also risk losing herself.
