Review Policy

Review Requests: Currently Open

*Please note, I will be giving precedence to authors and publishers I have previously worked with.

At this time, I am booking slots for reviews in 2023.

While I will review books for free on my own timeline, if you would like me to complete a book by a specific date, there will be a $20 USD charge associated with this.

If you are an author or a publisher, I strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with my reviewing style and read over my preferences carefully before submitting a review request to my email, hello@booksandladders.co.uk, with the subject line "REVIEW REQUEST: Book Title by Author".

In your email please state the following:

Title
Author
Synopsis
Genre
Trigger Warnings, if applicable
Links to Amazon and Goodreads
Publication Date

I will only respond to emails for requests that I am accepting. I am always happy to hear from publishers and authors about books, but unfortunately, I cannot make guarantees about reviews and therefore will be accepting books that are given to me as "for review consideration."

This means that I will consider reading and reviewing it. However, I may not review it if, upon starting the book, I am no longer interested or by 25% would not rate it more than 2 stars.

If I Do Not Finish (DNF) a book, I may or may not post my review on here, but it will for sure be posted to both Goodreads and Amazon. I rate these books with stars on both, especially Goodreads, so that others can find my reviews.

I am happy to accept print copies and e-copies in .mobi format. Print is preferred and given more of a priority. I will also listen to audiobooks if you wish to send me your book in that format.

If I do review your book, I will review it per my usual reviewing styles. I am generally a pretty fast reader, however as I am trying to balance my already owned books and upcoming releases, I cannot guarantee a timeline for when or if a book will be completed. Please remember that this is a passion project for me and not a full time job.
