#Discussion: Learning My BookSirens ReaderRank!

Learning My BookSirens ReaderRank!

I recently signed up to be a part of BookSirens, which is a website designed to help connect reviewers and authors/publishers with advanced copies. As part of this, they analyze your Goodreads information and tell you (and the publishers/authors) more about who you are as a reader. There is a bunch of graphs and other information, including percentage in the community you are for reviewing a specific type of genre. It's actually pretty neat and the main reason I signed up!

I thought it'd be fun to share, so here's me as a reader.

ReaderRank

I've rated 1,561 books and written 1,021 reviews (on Goodreads). My last Goodreads Review was on July 28, 2021 and I have an average of 3.7 stars out of 5 on there. I've helped 2,561 readers with my reviews.

On BookSirens, I am in the:
  • Top 1% in Young Adult,
  • Top 5% in Fantasy,
  • Top 5% in Friendship,
  • Top 5% in Family, and
  • Top 5% in readers helped.

I have rated/reviewed 1,561 books and over 453k pages with an average rating of 3.7. I have written a review for 1,021 of these books and 2,561 people have found these reviews to be helpful on Goodreads.
Chart of the number of reviews I've posted on Goodreads over the period of time starting with the most in 2015 and then fewer in 2019 and 2020.

Primary Genres Read

I read a diverse set of genres and am in the top 5% of reviewers, based on reading diversity. However, I primarily review Fiction, Fantasy, and Romance. I'm in the top 5% of Fantasy reviewers on BookSirens.

I review books that have Young Adult, Adult, and Children characters. In fact, I am in the top 1% of Young Adult book reviewers on BookSirens.

But I rate Adult books the highest, on average, with an average rating of 3.6.

Time Periods

I review Contemporary, Historical, Futuristic, and Medieval books. I am in the top 10% of Contemporary book reviewers on BookSirens.

However, I rate Futuristic books the highest, on average, with an average rating of 3.6

Topics, Themes, and Characters

My reviews include other notable characteristics such as the following topics and themes:
  • Family (top 5%)
  • Friendship (top 5%)
  • Urban (top 10%)
And the following character types:
  • Animals,
  • Feminist, and
  • Siblings.

Strict vs. Lenient

I tend to be a strict reviewer compared to other readers. However, I can definitley be impressed since I have given 350 five star ratings to date.

In the chart plots below, is the difference between my rating and the book's average rating. Green (or the top half of the chart) means my rating was higher and red (or the bottom half of the rating) was lower.

According to me:
My most popular review on Goodreads is for the book WICKED SAINTS by Emily A. Duncan (lol - it's a negative review if you click on it!!).

Publishers Read

I review books from top 5 presses, small presses, large presses, and self-publishers. In fact, I am in the top 5% of reviewers who review books from small presses, on BookSirens, based on review volume.
I tend to rate books from small presses the highest, on average, with an average rating of 4.0.

Review Timing

I have posted 205 reviews within one week of a book's release date. According to BookSiresn, I am a reliable choice for authors who want to create buzz around their book launch.

Book Length Impact

I have reviewed books 31 pages to over 1k pages long. The book's page length does not seem to impact my ratings.

Book Popularity Impact

The book's popularity does not impact my ratings.
And that's it! I thought it was all pretty interesting adn that you'd enjoy learning about it too. I am glad to know that I read a variety of publishers and that I tend to space out my star given from 1 to 5 stars.

  1. I will go on this website and get myself also registered. It is fun meeting different authors and writers that create minimalistic content. I have to focus on my academics first so that I can score well. I am currently looking for the best HND assignments and I think I have found one as well. Though, there is this inspection process that the academic writer has to go through. If he satisfied me then I may ask him to do all my assignments and I can focus on my writing.
