Top Ten Tuesday (3): Top Ten Fairy Tales and Fairy Tale Retellings I Heart

04 August 11 Comments
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and LOVE to see other top ten lists!

Ten Fairy Tales and Fairy Tale Retellings I Heart

I have a few of these actually but spoiler alert: Cinder is not one of them. I will mix them up whether it be the fairy tale or the retelling of the fairy tale. And since there are definitely more Cinderella retellings than any other, I am going to limit myself on how many of those I choose. Even though they are the ones I read the most. #sorrynotsorry

Cress (The Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer
This one has been on my wishlist for a while because I have hardcovers of all the rest but can't seem to find one of this one for some reason! Except for like a super expensive copy and as much as I like the series, I don't like it enough to spend $20 on this book when I spent $20 in total on all the other three that I own. If you have a strong desire, you can read my review of Scarlet.

Just Approved! The Ugly Stepsister

04 June 0 Comments
I was just approved for another NetGalley read! This one comes out on June 12th and sounds so good. It is another fairytale retelling, but the main character becomes a supporting character in the main story and has to make sure that everything resolves itself. I am super looking forward to this one and hope you guys check it out!

Goodreads Synopsis
Fairy Tale Survival Rule #32: If you find yourself at the mercy of a wicked witch, sing a romantic ballad and wait for your Prince Charming to save the day.

Yeah, no thanks. Dorthea is completely princed out. Sure being the crown princess of Emerald has its perks—like Glenda Original ball gowns and Hans Christian Louboutin heels. But a forced marriage to the brooding prince Kato is so not what Dorthea had in mind for her enchanted future.

Talk about unhappily ever after.

Trying to fix her prince problem by wishing on a (cursed) star royally backfires, leaving the kingdom in chaos and her parents stuck in some place called "Kansas." Now it's up to Dorthea and her pixed off prince to find the mysterious Wizard of Oz and undo the curse...before it releases the wickedest witch of all and spells The End for the world of Story.
