Discussion: 2023 Reading Goals!

2023 Reading Goals!

We've started the New Year and I have a lot of goals to get through this year. I am joining reading challenges, plus want to read for the Goodreads challenge, read more of my owned books, and make sure that I clean up my past ARCs!

Learn more about it below and let me know what your reading goals are for the year.

Summary:

  1. Read 340 Books;
  2. Participate in the 2023 Read Harder Challenge;
  3. Finish at least 150 owned books;
  4. Catch up on past ARCs;
  5. Read more poetry, and;
  6. Stay consistent in my tracking, both physical and digital.

Reading Challenges with Prompts

This year, I am participating in a few Reading Challenges to help me read more broadly than last year. Even though I read a lot by historically underinvested authors and marginalized groups, I stayed within certain genres and I want to try branching out of that.

Read Harder Challenge

Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge is one of my favourites. It really focuses on diversifying your reading and calls out specifically BIPOC and Queer reads instead of leaving it up to you to seek those out. They also give recommendations for the prompts.

You can stay up to date with my reading by following the #BooksAndLaddersReadsHarder2023 hashtag on Twitter and Instagram.

PopSugar Reading Challenge

PopSugar's 2023 Reading Challenge has a lot of unique and interesting challenges for me to expand into other genres. I really want to read more poetry and expand into more historical fiction. I was really enjoying reading Romance novels last year so I want to continue doing that as well.

Reading Challenges without Prompts

While I want to focus on owned books that I have as well as catching up on ARCs, I also want to read more from the library as well.

This year, my Goodreads goal is 340! You can follow my progress here:

I purchased the Reading Tracker from Novelly Yours and the biggest version holds up to 340 books, so I am using that as my basis. I'm not sure if I will actually get there, but I am going to try my best. And using the Reading Tracker is also how I want to start to be consistent in tracking my reading.

What are your reading goals this year?
