Summary:
Orphan Peter and his mates are dispatched to an island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. This one was sooo slow. I had the audio on 3x the speed and it still felt like it was taking forever to get through. But the ending was great so if you can push through the beginning to get to the end, you'll be happy about it! Unfortunately for me, a good ending isn't enough for me to be completely satisfied with the novel.

I liked the elements of the original story that were kept in this one and the updates to the story as well. But I read this two months ago (whoops I'm late on reviewing) and I can't remember specific details from the novel because it was actually so boring.

I did like the additional characters that were introduced in this story and some of the back story was interesting. I also liked how the "magic" was introduced because I thought it was really cool.

I am glad I listened to this one on audio because I'm not sure I would have finished it otherwise. If you are looking for a retelling of Peter Pan, this is one. But that's about the only recommendation I can give to it.

  1. I'm a big fan of such type of books and Peter and the Starcatchers is one of my favorite. The author is amazing and I've read almost all of his books.
