Review!

Summary:

Imagine a world where your destiny has already been decided…by your future self.

It’s Callie’s seventeenth birthday and, like everyone else, she’s eagerly awaiting her vision―a memory sent back in time to sculpt each citizen into the person they’re meant to be. A world-class swimmer. A renowned scientist.

Or in Callie’s case, a criminal.

In her vision, she sees herself murdering her gifted younger sister. Before she can process what it means, Callie is arrested and placed in Limbo―a prison for those destined to break the law. With the help of her childhood crush, Logan, a boy she hasn’t spoken to in five years, she escapes the hellish prison.

But on the run from her future, as well as the government, Callie sets in motion a chain of events that she hopes will change her fate. If not, she must figure out how to protect her sister from the biggest threat of all.

Callie herself.

Disclaimer: I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected my opinion of this novel.

So I loved FORGET TOMORROW and I was really excited to have the chance to read and review this one for the blog tour (and I have an interview with Pintip Dunn over on Books Are My Fandom next week. I'm super dedicated to this series). I think this is a great sequel to a book that could have been a standalone and I am just so happy that this is a series and will have another book. Like wow. Definitely one of the best SciFi novels I have read in a long time.

I liked Jessa as a character. She is so different from Callie and yet you can see how they are sisters. They are both self-assured and do whatever they can to save the people they love. I think I related more to Jessa who felt as though she was never really good enough rather than Callie who needed to prove she was innocent. I think it was a good change of pace from the first book and I am just so happy to have read this one.

The plot was so great this time around. I loved the science explanation and that it wasn't too complicated but also (seemed to) make sense. I liked everything about this one really, from how the plot progressed to what the plot meant. I would say that I thought there was a lot of information crammed into the end rather than slowly given to us throughout.

The one thing that I wasn't a huge fan of was Jessa and Tanner's relationship. I thought it came together nicely at the end but they had some awkward moments in between that I wasn't super here for. I felt like they were forced together rather than naturally coming together, like Callie and Logan. I would have liked just a bit more development early on rather than all at the end.

Overall I really enjoyed this one. REMEMBER YESTERDAY is a great addition to the FORGET TOMORROW series and I can't wait to see how the story continues onward from here. I think everyone could relate to both Callie and Jessa and there is so much goodness involved in this story. If you're looking for a fantastic Sci-Fi series, this is the one for you.
