matters worse, he asks her to go undercover.

life is a disaster. Rose can’t strip. She doesn’t even own a dress.

I did enjoy this one -- but not as much as I expected. I love most paranormal romance novels but this one started slow and didn't really keep my interest. It was a quick read as it was a serial but it still lagged. I didn't think the character development was that spectacular to make it the whole first 20% or so of the novel. Especially since I thought some of the characters weren't that well developed or weren't around enough for me to care about their development. I mostly just wanted to know about Rose and Jack's relationship and why it went wrong and if they have a chance to get back together.
Also, considering this was a semi-detective story, there wasn't a whole lot of mystery or build up to the actual crime stuff. There was a lot of getting ready for Rose to go undercover as a stripper -- which I felt was quite boring -- but other than that there wasn't much mystery or suspense.
The whole dead parents/mythological creature thing was a bit much for me. I am sure that at some point it will make sense but for now it just felt thrown in there and as if the story didn't have enough so they added in this part to make it different.
I did like Rose. I think her becoming more and more confident now is a good thing and it is nice to see it mostly from her perspective. I also think her supernatural power is really cool. I hope she starts to use it more.
Overall: 3/5. It was fast paced and fun, but I needed a bit more world building to really enjoy it.
