Fiction Spotlight of the Week: Favourite Fictional Wizard
First of all, SORRY THIS IS A DAY LATE. I was a complete space case yesterday with all my running around and forgot to do this! However, this one is an easy topic for me because what is the first thing people think of with wizards? Harry Potter.

I have two favourite fictional wizards but both are from the Harry Potter series. The first is Ginny Weasley aka the biggest bamf in the Harry Potter world. She was spunky and fearless, and a red head which made her really easy to connect with when I first started reading the novels. There were so many great moments of Ginny over the course of the series, but what I loved most about her was that she wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. She was young and naive and fell into Tom Riddle's trap during the course of her first year, but even after all that, she not only survived, but actually started to live. She become confident and loving; she was able to move past the trauma, while still acknowledging it and dealing with it every day, and had multiple relationships. She was a true inspiration to someone like me -- I wanted to be Ginny Weasley when I grew up. I'd like to think I have some of her traits in my personality now.
The other wizard that I love is Luna Lovegood. For lack of better terms, Luna gave no shits about what people thought about her or her family because she was extremely comfortable with herself. She knew she had flaws, but acknowledged them and realized that if people didn't accept her for who she was, they weren't people she wanted to be around. She was probably the most open minded character in the series and the reason I knew I was a Ravenclaw through and through. She was one of the only characters to understand some of the pain that Harry was going through and he opened up to her about it. She had some crazy conspiracy theory beliefs, but was extremely loyal to her friends and was always available to help in a pinch. She was thoughtful and logical, but also open to new ideas -- something that Hermoine was not. Luna truly exemplified the qualities of the Ravenclaw house and is by far my favourite fictional wizard.
Who are your favourite fictional wizards? Sound off in the comments! Lots of love and happy reading! xx
Harry Potter! I can't say I'm a huge fan but I definitely loved watching the films! I have read the first three books and just never got to read the rest. Hopefully this summer I can start the series form the beginning to the end! About time ;)
ReplyDeleteThe first three are definitely for younger readers, but the fourth one is where it starts becoming darker and darker. It definitely is one of those series that gets better as it goes along.
