BLOG TOUR: WATER'S WRATH by Elise Kova \\ The Northern Lifestyle

Hello and welcome friends. Today is the LAST DAY of the

WATER'S WRATH by Elise Kova

blog tour where we are creating fun things to celebrate the series!

We have seen movie castings, nail art, and Pokemon casting, so check out the rest of the tour down below. I'm bringing you a post today about the Northern Lifestyle! It'll feature what the North looks like and a couple recipes for some goodies inspired by the North!

But first, let's learn about the book...

Author: Elise Kova
Series: Air Awakens #4
Publisher: Silver Wing Press
Publication Date: April 26, 2016

Librarian turned sorcerer. Sorcerer turned hero. Hero turned puppet.

The Solaris Empire found victory in the North and, at the cost of her heart and her innocence, Vhalla Yarl has earned her freedom. But the true fight is only beginning as the secret forces that have been lurking in the shadows, tugging at the strings of Vhalla’s fate, finally come to light. Nowhere is safe, and Vhalla must tread carefully or else she’ll fall into the waiting arms of her greatest foe. Or former lover.

The Northern Lifestyle

The North is rich and lush, filled with big ass trees and houses that join together amongst them. The capital of Shaldan is Soricium which is said to be the birthplace of the world, especially in terms of magic. The North is known for GROUNDBREAKERS, who have control over the earth. They can create new structures from the earth and have stone skin, making their Achilles Heel their eyes. The Groundbreakers are most notable for having healing abilities, which we see through Elecia in the Air Awakens Series!
The people in the North literally live my dream of living in a tree house, so they are clearly the most interesting peoples in the Solaris Empire. Beyond that, they are all BAMFs who use their location to their advantage when fighting their war against those Southern bastards (aka everyone in the series). They are set in their cultural ways and don't want them to be destroyed upon entering the Solaris Empire and therefore fight back rather than bending the knee. I highly respect the people from the North for this reason.

Chocolate Tree Bark

  • (1) 4 ounce packet of saltine crackers
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • (1) 8 ounce package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped mixed nuts, or to taste (optional)

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Arrange crackers onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Stir butter and sugar together in a bowl until the sugar dissolves; drizzle over the crackers.
  • Bake crackers in preheated oven until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  • Spread chocolate chips over the crackers to cover completely immediately after removing the baking sheet from the oven, allowing the residual heat to melt the chocolate. Sprinkle nuts over the chocolate layer before it re-solidifies.
  • Cool the bark to room temperature. Once the chocolate is again firm, break the sheet into pieces to resemble tree bark.

Rainforest Cookies (As seen HERE)

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped cashews (optional)

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Whisk flours, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  • Use an electric mixer to beat butter, banana, and sugars until creamy.
  • Mix in eggs and coconut.
  • Add ⅓ of the flour mixture at a time, mixing after each addition.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and cashews (if using).
  • Drop by spoonful onto parchment paper-covered baking sheet.

Start the series and get lost in the world of Vhalla Yarl...

Author: Elise Kova
Series: Air Awakens #1
Publisher: Silver Wing Press
Publication Date: August 27, 2015

A library apprentice, a sorcerer prince, and an unbreakable magic bond...

The Solaris Empire is one conquest away from uniting the continent, and the rare elemental magic sleeping in seventeen-year-old library apprentice Vhalla Yarl could shift the tides of war.

Vhalla has always been taught to fear the Tower of Sorcerers, a mysterious magic society, and has been happy in her quiet world of books. But after she unknowingly saves the life of one of the most powerful sorcerers of them all—the Crown Prince Aldrik—she finds herself enticed into his world. Now she must decide her future: Embrace her sorcery and leave the life she’s known, or eradicate her magic and remain as she’s always been. And with powerful forces lurking in the shadows, Vhalla’s indecision could cost her more than she ever imagined.
