Mini Review: Inherit The Stars by Tessa Elwood

Inherit The Stars by Tessa Elwood

Goodreads Synopsis
Three royal houses ruling three interplanetary systems are on the brink of collapse, and they must either ally together or tear each other apart in order for their people to survive.

Asa is the youngest daughter of the house of Fane, which has been fighting a devastating food and energy crisis for far too long. She thinks she can save her family’s livelihood by posing as her oldest sister in an arranged marriage with Eagle, the heir to the throne of the house of Westlet. The appearance of her mother, a traitor who defected to the house of Galton, adds fuel to the fire, while Asa also tries to save her sister Wren's life . . . possibly from the hands of their own father.

But as Asa and Eagle forge a genuine bond, will secrets from the past and the urgent needs of their people in the present keep them divided?
This one was on par for me with A History of Glitter and Blood for being equal parts exciting and beautifully written. It is in stream of consciousness and takes some getting used to, but it was magnificent. I highly recommend this one because it is my new favourite,

I loved Asa and her determination to save her sister. I loved how she didn't even realize she was falling for Eagle. I did think that the romance was rushed but I did enjoy the romance. It wasn't insta-love it just wasn't fleshed out, but I think that is because we were so deeply engrossed in Asa's mind.

I'll post a full review at the end of October/beginning of November (probably over at Queen of the Bookshelves) but until then, here is my favourite quote from the book:

"The sunshine glows when the world ends and there's nothing left to do but whatever you can."

Overall: 4/5 stars. And I would highly suggest reading this in one sitting if you can to get yourself acquainted with the writing and be able to fully immerse yourself in the story.
